Facilities Maintenance Technician
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and general upkeep of company facilities, equipment, and properties. The role requires strong practical skills across multiple trades and the flexibility to work evenings or weekends when necessary, particularly during office relocations, renovations, or emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities & Preventative Maintenance
Conduct routine inspections of buildings, facilities, and equipment to identify maintenance needs and potential safety risks.
Develop and carry out preventative maintenance programs for infrastructure, equipment, and company premises (internal and external areas).
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and scheduled maintenance activities.
General Repairs & Trade Work
Perform plumbing repairs including leaks, pipes, water heaters, sinks, toilets, and related fixtures.
Carry out minor electrical work such as replacing lighting fixtures, switches, sockets, and basic fault finding (in compliance with safety regulations).
Undertake general maintenance tasks including plastering, painting, carpentry, minor construction, partition installation, furniture assembly, and landscaping.
Perform maintenance and minor repairs at company-owned or leased properties, including staff accommodations if applicable.
Office Moves & Setup
Assemble, install, relocate, and reconfigure office furniture, workstations, partitions, and equipment.
Support office renovations, refurbishments, and relocations.
Assist with after-hours and weekend office moves to minimize business disruption.
Emergency & Reactive Maintenance
Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests and emergency repair situations.
Be available for occasional late hours or weekend work when required for operational continuity.
Inventory & Equipment Management
Maintain proper inventory of tools, equipment, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.
Coordinate procurement and ensure organized storage of materials.
Operate company vehicles safely for transportation of tools and materials.
Health & Safety
Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and company regulations at all times.
Identify and report potential hazards.
Support continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance procedures and safety practices.
Requirements
Proven experience in general maintenance, handyman services, or facilities maintenance.
Practical knowledge of plumbing, basic electrical systems, carpentry, and general building repairs.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues independently.
Good physical condition and ability to perform manual tasks.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Valid driver’s license (if company vehicle use is required).
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
Working Conditions
Combination of indoor and outdoor work.
Occasional after-hours or weekend work required, particularly during office relocations, renovations, or urgent repair situations.
May involve lifting, carrying equipment, and working at heights.
