IT Engineer
Role & Key Responsibilities:
The IT Engineer – will be responsible for assembling, configuring, maintaining, and repairing in-house technology and studio assets. This role covers studio hardware and software, network equipment and AV integration. You will troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, support the Technical Operations team, provide training, and ensure optimal performance of studio and network systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify and deliver required hardware and software service levels in line with company policies.
• Provide hands-on assistance to the Studio Department and relay IT-related advice and recommendations.
• Implementation of Studio CCTV infrastructure and support.
• Improvements of Studio Technologies implementation and cost efficiency supervision.
• Train Studio Department team members and other relevant personnel as directed.
• Stay up to date on Studio related systems and new technology developments.
• Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot studio and network hardware, peripheral devices, and software.
• Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of hardware/software problems for a variety of devices.
• Assist with the integration of AV hardware into studio environments.
• Handle tickets, and emails regarding hardware problems, document incidents in the ticketing system.
• Provide coverage for colleagues during absences.
• Adhere to relevant regulations (e.g., gaming regulations, OSHA compliance, fire codes, company policies).
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Prepare reports as needed for senior management, contractors, and stakeholders, summarizing technical considerations and design implications.
• Troubleshoot and assist Studio Technicians per bi-weekly On-Call schedule outside of office hours in case of emergencies.
• Write procedures and documentation for Studio Techs to ensure smooth 24/7 Studio operation and smooth issue handling.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• Minimum 1 year experience installing and troubleshooting Windows and Linux OS, desktop hardware, and network equipment.
• Experience with POE devices (e.g., CCTV cameras) – desired.
• Experience running and terminating cables (Cat5, Cat6, coaxial, etc.) – desired.
• Experience in an Active Directory environment and with tools like Wireshark or multi-meter.
• Effective communicator in English, both written and oral.
• Previous experience in a similar studio/technical operations setting preferred.
• Willingness and ability to occasionally travel (within North America and abroad).
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to use common hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (~23 kg).
