Junior IT Infrastructure Engineer
Role & Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for an enthusiastic Junior IT Infrastructure Engineer to support the implementation, management and maintenance of our IT infrastructure. This entry-level role is ideal for someone eager to learn and grow in systems administration, networking, and security. You will assist in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our systems while providing technical support to internal teams, with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies and On-Prem AD. You will be responsible for:
• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure components.
• Perform routine system upgrades, patches, and security configurations.
• Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and software applications.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and performance.
• Implement and maintain security measures to protect company data and infrastructure.
• Where required, provide technical support and assistance to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and network issues promptly and effectively.
• Evaluate new technologies and tools to improve system performance, reliability, and security.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
• Ensure robust security and DLP measures are implemented and maintained across end user devices
• Manage the infrastructure as it relates to a User’s IT lifecycle.
• Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery procedures.
• Collaborate with internal teams to identify and implement IT solutions that meet business needs.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices as it relates to an Infrastructure Engineer.
• Ensure effective communication, collaboration and sharing of knowledge and expertise.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, providing guidance and mentorship to other team members when necessary.
Required Skills:
• Proven experience in a fast-paced environment with an emphasis on the Microsoft stack.
• Good knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms with an Azure bias.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Good familiarity with administering Active Directory, Azure, Intune, Exchange, Defender, M365, JIRA, Slack.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), CompTIA Server+, etc.) are a plus.
Additional Information:
• Occasional after-hours and weekend work may be required for system maintenance and upgrades.
