R&D Engineer
Role & Key Responsibilities:
As an R&D Engineer, you will play a central role in developing and maintaining the cutting-edge technologies behind our live studio environments. This role requires deep technical expertise in audio engineering, live streaming workflows, and LED integration. You will collaborate with studio, production, and IT teams to deliver high-performance, immersive, and reliable audiovisual systems tailored for live iGaming environments. This is a hands-on engineering role that combines hardware and software knowledge with real-time problem-solving, innovative thinking, and a passion for high-quality production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, set up, and maintain professional audio systems for both live production and studio environments.
- Manage audio signal flow, mixing, EQ, dynamic processing, and monitoring to ensure optimal sound quality.
- Troubleshoot complex audio hardware and software issues during live events or streaming operations.
- Configure and operate encoding systems for live and on-demand streaming (e.g., OBS, vMix, Wirecast, Wowza, AWS Elemental).
- Optimize and implement streaming protocols (RTMP, SRT, HLS, DASH, WebRTC) for real-time delivery.
- Monitor and improve streaming performance by evaluating latency, jitter, QoS, and bandwidth usage.
- Install, program, and maintain RGBW and Pixel LED systems (e.g., WS2812, SK6812) across studios and display environments.
- Control and configure LED installations using Artnet, DMX, and other LED software/hardware ecosystems.
- Perform hands-on soldering and electronic work related to LED modules, wiring, and controllers.
- Support studio IT infrastructure including AoIP (Audio over IP) systems like Dante and AES67.
- Configure network, storage, and server environments to support high-quality AV and streaming operations.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to improve and streamline AV, broadcast, and network workflows.
- Continuously research and evaluate new encoding tools, AV technologies, codecs, and LED solutions.
- Provide clear technical documentation and contribute to internal training on systems and tools.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Audio Engineering, IT, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience in iGaming/streaming environments.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in audio engineering, AV systems, or broadcast/live production environments.
- Strong knowledge of DAWs, DSPs, professional sound systems, and AV routing.
- Proficiency with video/audio encoding software and hardware tools (OBS, FFmpeg, AWS MediaLive, etc.).
- Experienced in streaming protocol integration and media compression (AAC, Opus, H.264, H.265).
- Hands-on experience with Pixel LED systems, RGBW configurations, and control protocols (DMX, Artnet, SPI).
- Proven soldering skills and ability to build and maintain AV and LED hardware solutions.
- Understanding of AoIP (Dante, AES67) and real-time AV over network setups.
- Familiarity with network infrastructure for AV applications (TCP/IP, multicast, VPNs, QoS).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in high-pressure live environments.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong documentation, reporting, and cross-team collaboration skills.
- Flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving tech environment.
