Technical Operations Engineer

Role & Key Responsibilities:
We’re looking for a proactive and adaptable Technical Operations Engineer to join our technical operations team in a diverse, hands-on role. This position combines elements of systems administration, light network support, and media platform configuration, ideal for a well-rounded technical professional. The ideal candidate has experience with both Windows and Linux server environments. Familiarity with streaming platforms and tools for live content production is a plus. You’ll be part of a shift-based operations team, helping to maintain high availability, respond to alerts, and perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor systems and services to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability.
- Automate routine operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual toil.
- Apply OS-level updates and security patches across Linux and Windows environments.
- Support the deployment and configuration of backend services, including those used for media delivery.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to incidents and restore service quickly.
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to resolve system-level issues.
- Contribute to infrastructure documentation and operational runbooks.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Proven experience (1+ years) in a Systems Administrator / Network Support / IT Operations role.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals.
- Proficiency in administering both Linux and Windows Server environments.
- Perform regular firmware and operating system updates on servers to ensure security, stability, and optimal performance.
- Able to work independently, prioritise effectively, and remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Availability to work on a rotating shift schedule, including nights and weekends as needed.
- Familiarity with scripting languages and monitoring tools.
- Eager to learn and adapt to new technologies and approaches.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
